We need some fresh ideas and a change of cards on defense. Just like we did on offense, but Saban is going to have to let them run their show. One of the big things is Bama has an offense and a Defensive play book and you as an OC or DC have to learn it. You can call plays from it, even add on offense but it’s Bama’s. It’s time for a revamping and I’m not sure Saban will do that on Defense. That’s his baby and it’s complicated. That’s why it’s hard for freshman to play.. it’s honesty too advanced now. That’s why we keep hearing players didn’t execute and out of positions. It’s takes 2 plus years to learn and with transfers and NIL it’s too much. We have one of the most experienced teams right now and they can’t nail it down. We have talent like Ricks and he can’t learn it yet. We need to sometimes Let the players play. If you are constantly thinking about not messing up and multiple reads you can’t play fast. That takes years and it’s why we don’t attack anymore. We are out smarting ourselves. You can see us during motions trying to call out different assignments and we look confused. Espically if they run uptempo. This year it’s a lot more on the back end.. if you have a safety trying to read 3 looks and covers the release guy when he crosses him.. it’s too late at the point. He has ran bye you and you are playing catch up. Alot of the reason you see us chasing receivers with our backs turned. We don’t have that kind of speed at Safety.
