Our last 5 coaches, going back 40 years, before Harsin all either won a national championship (Dye, Tubs, Gene), played for one (Gus), or went undefeated (Bowden, Gene, Tubs). I doubt many other schools can match that level of sustained relevancy.

Auburn is a sleeping giant and they better get a coach in there to resurrect it before OU/UTex get here, the CFP expands and scheduling does a fruit basket turnover.

Finebaum is really on the Freeze bandwagon and like it or not he has a lot persuasion of how the media ( ESPN) will spin the hire if it's Freeze. Hugh understands the Auburn mentality and has won everywhere. I believe he's the boosters top choice and could bring immediate buzz back to a program that let's face it is on a Florida St or Tennessee trajectory after winning National championships.
