The ball being deflected is such a bs stance. The reason why it is called intentional grounding is bc the QB is throwing the ball away to avoid a sack. In this instance that is what he was doing. He had no idea if a receiver was in the area. He was in the grasp. His ankles were touching the field. His feet were sideways. How is he not down in that instance?
