I have been eating mutton and got all my life, they are very tasty
My favorite meats*
#1 Fish
#2 Bison
#3 Lamb
#4 Game birds (including wild turkey)
#5 Pork (non commercial)
#6 Beef (local)
#7 Small game (squirrel / rabbit)
#8 Goat
Do not eat supermarket chicken or turkey. Not a fan of industrial beef or pork
*Bacon is at the top but just a cut of pork, not the whole pig

Not in agreement with nor could I be decisive enough to set my own order, but I added my thoughts on each
I'd add deer and elk as well, but know some don't like it
quote:
#1 Fish - Faves- Freshwater: bluegill; Saltwater: Wahoo or Mahi; smoked: salmon
#2 Bison - yes; as good as beef
#3 Lamb - tastes like a goats arse smells in an Iraqi meat mkt in Jul
#4 Game birds (including wild turkey) - fried wild turkey breast for breakfast; Dove and dumplings; quail about any way; teal breast split open and stuffed with cream cheese and a jalapeno wrapped in bacon... omg!
#5 Pork (non commercial) - yes; can't beat it
#6 Beef (local) - yes; when we were in KS we'd get a whole slaughterd cow once a year and process it. Couldnt be beat
#7 Small game (squirrel / rabbit)- both awesome; I just made a spanish braised rabbit last night. so damn tasty
#8 Goat - see lamb
I'd add deer and elk as well, but know some don't like it
