Whether or not we approve isnt really the point, you are probably right that we wouldnt. And whether it really is Texas style or not isnt the point.
The point is tons of new places opening up use some sort of marketing/slogan of "Texas style bbq" because many people have realized we know what we are doing down here. As they say: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....

That’s my point, at least around here, it’s just to seem to be different, novelty is attractive. I think it is less to do with everyone wanting Texas style bbq and more that the existing joints have got the existing style down pat, so if you’re going to break in you either need to have a different concept or, more easily, claim that you do regardlesss.
