wonder if there are any living Aggies who have won a football title? Conceivably, a guy born as late as 1921 could have played on the ‘39 squad which nipped Tulane. Would have to be turning 101 this year.

That’s a great question. I wish I knew the answer.

When my son was like 5, we were watching a great national championship game between Alabama and Clemson. He asked me if A&M had ever win a national championship in football. I said, “yes, but it’s been a very long time - before I was born. But I’ve been rooting for them since I was even younger than you.”

He said, “Well, we’ll keep rooting for them. And if we die first, we’ll root from heaven. But, Daddy, I guess will we have to root for everyone from heaven. Except LSU and Texas. They’re won’t be any of them in heaven.”

True story. He’s a good boy.

Good stuff, kids here don’t know who Texas A&M is, honestly. They learn to hate Bama and Ole Miss more than anyone, but the Ole Miss rivalry is not what it was years ago.
