LSU’s all time record is
823-427-47

Which is very good.

However that equates to a .653 winning average which means they are an 8-4 team with an occasional 7-5 record and then an 8-10 or more wins here and there.

So I don’t get any nervous energy about Kelly. I think he is a good coach who will do well at LSU and maybe even win a NC.

But historically they are an 8-4 program and that is likely what he will be as well.

Just like State is a 6-6 team historically that bumps up or down from that.

LSU is trending up.

LSU is 220-86 since the creation of the BCS. That's good for 71.8% win rate, and has pushed LSU to 11th in all time wins.

Context matters.
