The last football game I ever played in was against Thomson. I played for Mary Persons and y'all beat us in the playoffs in 1971. Back then Forsyth and Monroe County was even smaller than Thomson and McDuffie County. That was the 2nd year of total intergration. We had one of the best coaches ever in the state of Georgia, Dan Pitts. The first spring practice we had with the guys from the black school was just brutal. The first day they came over to our school in 2 busses, and by the end of it they were coming in 2 cars. lol 70 and 71 we were good enough to win our region, but lost in the first round of the playoffs both years. We lost to Statesboro that first year, and they absolutely killed us. We were better the next year but still lost to y'all by I think a couple of TDs. Seems like yesterday. Damn, I'm getting old.
