It's weird how people act like the SEC has to react to the Big 10 adding USC/UCLA when they were the ones reacting to us making (much better) additions a year ago. 7 of top 10 most valuable programs (5 excluding OU and Texas) are SEC. Hell, 6 of the top 12 are SEC charter members.
This was definitely the Big 10 reacting desperately to the SEC getting Texas and Oklahoma. If the SEC adds anyone right now its Ohio State and Michigan and creates their own playoff.
I'll say it again, Florida State and Clemson bring nothing to the table to increase market value of the league. North Carolina and Virginia some, but we are fine as is.

It's not about markets anymore since cable subscriptions don't drive the ship anymore, otherwise Rutgers and Houston would presumably be great for ratings. It's about eyeballs these days. Less desirable teams bring fewer eyes regardless where they are. More desirable teams are just that, more desirable. They have to compete with the other games that are on the TV every Saturday. Other than the Holy Rollers, Clemson is the team with the most eyeballs not currently in the Big(Whatever) or the SEC. Virginia does pull a couple more viewers than the Coots, so there's that.
