This was definitely the Big 10 reacting desperately to the SEC getting Texas and Oklahoma. If the SEC adds anyone right now its Ohio State and Michigan and creates their own playoff. I'll say it again, Florida State and Clemson bring nothing to the table to increase market value of the league. North Carolina and Virginia some, but we are fine as is.

It's not about markets anymore since cable subscriptions don't drive the ship anymore, otherwise Rutgers and Houston would presumably be great for ratings. It's about eyeballs these days. Less desirable teams bring fewer eyes regardless where they are. More desirable teams are just that, more desirable. They have to compete with the other games that are on the TV every Saturday. Other than the Holy Rollers, Clemson is the team with the most eyeballs not currently in the Big(Whatever) or the SEC. Virginia does pull a couple more viewers than the Coots, so there's that.

>soccers not gonna get you into the SEC, good for hanging out with the UVAs, UNCs and Syracuses of the world tho >all those wins and zero national championships, got smacked by the 2002/2010 Gamecocks squads in Omaha > SC basketballs fluke final four > any Clemson basketball achievement ever, not even counting USC’s national prominence from 1968-1975 which ALSO eclipses clemsons minuscule basketball history.

What was this national prominence from 68-75? One ACC tournament championship and three sweet sixteen appearances? I mean that's nice and all, but that's a eight-year period half a century ago.

Hell, Clemson has had more Men's basketball NCAA tournament appearances and aren't thought of as a BB school.

Clemson just started a women's softball program in 2020 and made the NCAA tourney both years (none during COVID) including a super regional this year. ALso, if I'm not mistaken, they haven't lost to South Carolina.

If we do it needs to be schools that bring big business with them. Clempson brings nothing to the table in that regards. Your football program is the only positive your school has yet it's not a national brand in the way of other states cheering for you as most hate you and the fake preacher. Your support area is small and the rest of your Olympic sports programs are horrible. If we do add more teams I would like NC State and Virginia Tech. Two new states and both schools have a SEC feel to them.

Others would disagree with you.

Which college football programs bring in the most TV viewers?

Not even trying to instigate an argument here.. I am hoping for an honest answer from the clemson fans in this thread.

Do y'all genuinely believe that an exception should be made for y'all should you become a member of the SEC? And if so, why?

For the difference in money, it would be as easy to pay the fine. Or we could ring a cowbell or something else that's not allowed.

I'll say it out loud.
