Wrong. a&m was already in discussion about leaving the Big 12 before the LHN. Texas approached a&m and AD Bill Byrne about forming the Lone Star Network, with equal shares going to both Texas and a&m, and Byrne turned it down. He said that it would never work. After that, Texas began discussion with ESPN and the LHN was formed. a&m lied and blamed Texas and LHN for the reason why they left the Big 12, when the reality is they already had one foot out the door.

Wow, there is a lot wrong here.

The donghorns were looking into joining the PAC back in 2010 and had to have A&M join with them in order to seal the deal. Chokelahoma was not even part of the discussion. A&M seriously considered it but in the end decided it was not a good fit and declined the offer.

A&M started discussing joining the SEC back in 2011. About the same time, tu and A&M were looking into a network channel with ESPN that was supposed to be shared by both schools.

One year later, the SEC invited A&M to join the SEC. They also were continuing to work with ESPN on a network. It was becoming pretty obvious that the network was going to be controlled by the donghorns. DeLoss Dodds, donghorn AD at the time, in his arrogant way, even admitted that they planned to use the network to show high school games of potential recruits. A&M felt like this would more or less lockdown recruiting in Texas in favor of the teasips, so they accepted the offer by the SEC. DeLoss Dodds was furious and refused to schedule A&M, ending the 100 year plus rivalry. As a matter of fact, all Big 12 teams were ordered to not schedule the Aggies in football. The butthurt by the donghorns and the rest of the Big 12 was amazing. Bills were introduced into the state legislature to try and block the move. Baylor even tried to sue us for moving to the SEC.

Now, little sister teasip and big brother BlowU are following daddy A&M to the SEC.

I'll be honest. I thought the NCAA v. Alston supreme court case is what blew it up and eliminated any concern that schools had regarding the NCAA, or fear about throwing money anywhere and everywhere.
