This is not some sec-wide loophole. Every other school in the conference can be FOIA and working with a private entity is not some lifehack to protect it

It's amazing how many times I've heard that urban legend.
I'm dumbfounded that people actually believe it for the reasons you described. I guess some guys got together once upon a time and were trying to figure out why each league had private schools in them and that ridiculous assumption is what they came up with.
