It's amazing how many SEC ranters have chimed in about OU (and Texas) falling on their face once they join the conference.

As an OU fan that is the most frustrating thing about the lame duck status... listening to the smack talk for two or three more years.

I'd much rather get in there and start scrapping in order to see what happens.

But suffice it to say. If OU does indeed drop to the middle of the pack in the SEC there will be a lot of "I told you so's".

If OU performs at a high level then nobody will admit that they predicted that OU was going to be mediocre.

And if OU is good (I think they will be from #3-#6) SEC fan will go with "Well, they didn't win the championship".

But if OU were somehow to win the SEC early on...

God have mercy on your souls because Mojo Eraser won't.

The simple fact of the matter is Oklahoma would have to improve greatly to achieve what you are talking about. It could happen, but the odds are - it won't and there is nothing at all that indicates you are on that path.

Especially given the direction college football is heading and how Riley just took a good portion of your last class with him.

So while you are bitching about "lame duck status", the truth is that's the only reason you can even pretend you'll be good in the future. If you were joining the SEC next year, you'd be losing many games.

Your post season losses just became your regular season losses.
