quote:This. No need for the Vandy folks to get so defensive. They have an advantage in the 11.7 environment. If the NCAA ups the scholarship cap significantly, that advantage will pretty much go away. They aren't breaking the rules, just taking advantage of them the way they are currently written.
Look at the chart from the Vandy website. If your household earns less than $120k+/year, you're getting most of your tuition covered by Opportunity Vanderbilt when you take into consideration supplementing that aid with a partial athletic scholarship

I don't know why so many people try to act like it's a conspiracy that Vandy has a pretty nice advantage getting kids to campus. No one is saying Vandy is doing something illegal.

It would almost be unfair if we didn't take this 'advantage' considering Vandy's tuition can be 4 or 5 times other SEC schools in-state tuition, and at least twice normal out of state tuition.
Point is, it's fair to say that regardless of Oppurtunity Vanderbilt, Vandy baseball players as a whole pay at least as much or more out of pocket tuition than other schools in the SEC.
