Entire tournament is about to be cancelled. You can’t get behind more days and ask teams to use so many pitchers before the meaningful tourney starts.
The other issue is starting games and then huge delays. That will burn through more pitchers.

I could legit see it going to single elimination.
That would only require 8 games to be played through Sunday instead of potentially 14.
