Just my prediction. Nothing will happen.
It takes years for the ncaa to finish up an investigation.

If they weren’t fricked before they sure as hell are now.

It is the rattling of sabers that they are hoping will have boosters calm down to at least to pre-NIL levels.
Won't work with aggy as they are too desperate to get out of the mediocre dungeon they have lived in for nearly a century.

None of the recruits will rat them out. They all want that paycheck. They’ll all play dumb and nothing will come out of it. This is just a scare tactic for recruiting moving forward!

The real question is… which sports publication will run with “pioneerbasketballs” internet accusations as truth?
Kinda similar to the reporting on the $30m spend to sign our #1 recruiting class!

The truth?
The NCAA will get sued by college boosters and the NCAA will lose.
The NCAA can’t dictate to a student who they can work for! If a firm (owned by a booster or not) chooses to pay an “employee” a six figure salary for marketing purpose’s and they do commercials and what not for them, they can’t do a damn thing about controlling how much they get paid.
They can require the institution to report but anything further than that and they would be sued nine ways to Sunday and would probably end up a for profit entity.
They will lose this lawsuit when it happens. And it’s going to happen if they try to keep things like it was.
A company will always be able to pay a student whatever that student can manage. Always. That’s never going to ever change.
And yes, that makes the recruiting field uneven. Sucks to be poor.

In all honestly it would be an interesting case and I don’t think it would be a slam dunk either way and anyone saying it would doesn’t know much about how the law or the courts work.
Example: when OU successfully sued the NCAA over the tv deal, SCOTUS affirmed the NCAA both had some leway around antitrust law (meaning the NCAA can, in some cases, maintain a restraint on trade) and also that a vested interest in maintaining parity existed, but that the NCAA met neither of those thresholds in that particular case. That alone gives the NCAA a starting point to work with.
If they apply these guidelines, it will be done in a purposeful way so as to stand the best chance to withstand legal scrutiny. That doesn’t mean it will, of course, but it’s not guaranteed it wouldn’t.

at the end of next football season there will be caps put on how much an athlete can make off of nil deals. it will be just like the NFL. the only fair way for it to work.

You see now the Supreme Court has given an opinion on this matter. They will lose.

Companies restrict their employees' outside business activities all the time.
