I remember as a youngster when we played them after the '97 season being legitimately worried about how we would ever contain this dude that had taken on an almost invincible persona. Dayne had 14 carries for 36 yards. Robert Edwards meanwhile had 22 carries for 110 and Olandis Gary had 60+ himself as well

The Big Ten was playing solid football in the 1990s. Those Wisconsin teams under Barry Alvarez in 1998 and 1999 were no joke.

I was at that bowl game. All we heard pregame was how great this Dane guy was. Turned out he was as slow and fat as his teammates. Wasn’t much of a game.

Back then the big ten was probably as good as the sec . Not really such thing as saying “product of the big ten” and it being a negative back then
