It was playing out better since Bama had more points at that point in the game and Williams was on pace to exceed his SECG numbers not counting Metchie's missing numbers. It's pretty clear how the game would have played out with those two.

Wrong. Bama already had a td on the board in game 1, and he had more yards at that time, so it was not playing out better.
