I feel like we haven’t really seen more than two backs get a significant split of carries since Jimbo has been here. Wonder if that changes this year

I think a couple things will decide this. Devon not being built like a prototypical lead back makes it more likely we see a 3rd back a decent amount of carries. Trayveon wasn't a big guy either and still averaged over 20 attempts per game (80% of all RB carries), but I doubt Achane gets that same share of carries.

This is also potentially the deepest RB rotation we've had under Jimbo, even if the overall strength of the RB room probably takes a step back from last year.

2018: All Trayveon with a FR Jashaun Corbin and walkon Kwame Etwi behind him.

2019: Corbin hurt game one. Spiller gets all the significant carries, with SO Cordarrian Richardson and SO Jacob Kibodi behind him. Depth so bad that Ainias Smith gets moved to RB for bowl game.

2020: Spiller again with a heavy workload. Achane becomes first #2 back that is clearly capable of being a #1. No one else to challenge for carries.

2021: See 2020

2022: Achane clear #1. Two potential #2 in SO LJ Johnson and SO Amari Daniels. FR Leveon Moss probably headed for a redshirt.

Haven't seen enough from LJ or Amari to say if either warrants 5-10 carries per game in SEC play. Maybe both are good enough, maybe neither is. And how good is Leveon Moss? Him not being here for spring football probably means he's an injury away from seeing much PT.

SO LJ Johnson

Johnson played in 3 games so he is still a Redshirt Freshman. Daniels played in 5.

Spiller gets all the significant carries

I remember the first couple games thinking he wasn't gonna be very good. Dude turned in to an absolute baller
