I lived in GA (Augusta, Columbus), Alabama (Ozark, Huntsville), Virginia (Richmond/Petersburg), have stayed all over Louisiana and have fam in Arkansas. I’ve been all over the south.

Virginia is hands down the coolest southern state I’ve ever visited and if my roots weren’t in Oklahoma, I’d retire in VA.

I enjoyed Alabama and the people were pretty cool, closely followed by Georgia. ATL is cool, Savannah is worth seeing once, Augusta is super close to Columbia.

No thanks on Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas. It’s cool visiting Biloxi, New Orleans, and Louisiana culture but I could not live in any of those states.

Memphis and Nashville are worth the visit. I’m on the fence about Tennessee.

If you cite cost of living as a reason to live in Oklahoma, you could only dream to retire in VA
