A study in Georgia to see which predator sounds deer are most afraid of... coyotes, cougars, humans, etc.

Why do horses get skittish in certain tall grasses? Why do people in concrete cities that have never even seen a snake (outside of tv or aquariums) dream about them in their worst nightmares? How come something as simple as a campfire puts people into a trance? Where they look at something, but dont see it

Interesting but not totally surprising. I thought Cougar sounds would have been a little higher on the fear scale.

Humans have been hunting and killing deer for a long time. I imagine that predators like wolves and cougars target the young and the weak, and mostly leave adults alone, whereas humans have been going after the healthy adults for thousands of generations.
