Yep. Accent is genuine.
That pocket of central Appalachia in VA, WV, KY, TN, NC has some of the thickest southern accents I've ever heard. Marty is from there and sounds just like everyone I know from there.

Yep. Took our vacation there in October(SW VA, along the NC border) and the accents are real.
