They aren’t signing a contract to play for the team like a pro does.

They actually do have to sign. A lot. And yes, they are contracts and disclosure forms.

. It’s the schools and boosters that have turned this into a Pay for play thing

No shite. Who didnt see this coming? You?

Also, if you don’t think the best talent has been going to schools for money for the last 60yrs or more, your crazy.

I hate to break it to you. But the players who dont make it in the nfl (24-30 year olds) would break most 18-20 year olds in half. They are the best talent (because they are older, stronger, more mature versions of the best talent coming out of high school).

The argument isnt about pay for play. I was responding to caplitalism arguments in favor of the players when true merit based capitalism would sideline 18-20 year olds in college football.

Most of these people are too dumb to realize that NIL stuff doesn’t make you a professional, because you aren’t being paid to play. You are being paid based on how much your image is worth to a company. Plus football isn’t the only sport that benefits. Gymnastics became a lot more competitive and interesting now that Olympic gymnasts can compete in college without losing amateur status.
