Drinkwitz said he had someone in mind to replace him if he leaves for the NFL. Remember the former LSU coach that Drinkwitz added to the coaching staff not too long ago?

Blake Baker, who came to Mizzou after one year as Louisiana State's linebackers coach, served as Miami's defensive coordinator from 2019-20 and before that held the same role at Louisiana Tech from 2015-18. Baker and Drinkwitz coached together at Arkansas State in 2013."

I think Wilks may have been an experiment to see if having an NFL coach on staff would be attractive to recruits.
If,as I suspect, it makes no difference, then Drink would be happy to replace him with a young, aggressive recruiter.
