Wasn't there a story that napier wouldn't take the job because auburn wouldn't let him hire his own staff?

Didn't harsin basically hire his own staff?

There was that story, but that story was wrong. The Napier hire was sabotaged by the AD, who instead wanted Harsin. Napier had the support of the big wigs and would have been accepted by the fan base. The AD has been informed that his contract will not be renewed. He's still drawing a check and getting his picture made, but he has no power and will be soon gone.

This really isn't that complicated. Harsin is there because of the AD who, if he had done his homework and due diligence, would not have hired Harsin. He's a decent coach, but a hard man to work for with questionable relationship skills.

It's still unknown, to me at least, whether he did anything untoward, but the speed at which Gogue is moving makes me think there is a chance he did.

Harsin is gone and this is a FUBAR event. Most of the blame points directly at the AD. We'll survive it, but it will take a couple of years. We weren't going to be more than middle of the pack this year and next year was looking bleaker, given Harsin's recruiting prowess.
