If Bryan Harsin wants to dig his heels in, Auburn fires him and releases everything that was discovered during the investigation.

People say this is a unique situation that's going on in Auburn, but honestly it is very similar to the Beaty vs. Kansas situation in 2018. It was quite the drama, but it didn't make national headlines because no one gives a shite about KU football because their team is 1-11 about every year.

Basically AD Long (of Petrino fame) was the Kansas AD and he decided to fire Beaty because he was friends with Less Miles and wanted Miles to take over. So he axes Beaty and Beaty is like "Cool, pay me my $3 mil buyout." Long said "Ok bro, we gotcha." Well a short while later Kansas reneged on their promise and said "There's a problem, we dug up a Level II NCAA violation and we ain't paying you a dime, brother."

Beaty filed a lawsuit saying a Level II offense does not rise to the level of "serious and repeated" violations that his contract outlines. He contended that if he was winning more such a minor violation would have been self-reported and that would have been the end of it. In other words, they were really firing him for "bad football" but wanted to tarnish him to get out of the buy-out. In his lawsuit he actually said, "Kansas was trying to find a dead hooker in my closet."

Well, because of the lawsuit there was motion for discovery as well as forced depositions of various KU brass. During those depositions embarrassing shite came out about KU. Eventually KU said "Aight, enough, we will settle out of court with you." So they came to the table and ended up agreeing to pay him almost his full buy-out (2.5 of the 3 mil).

So, yeah, Auburn better have something rock solid. If Harsin feels they are "looking for dead hookers in his closet" he will fight them tooth and nail. And it did NOT work out for KU. They got exposed and ended up paying the whole thing in the end.

As a side-note. Les Miles ended up failing there because his sexual stuff at LSU hit the media. Jeff Long was forced to fire him over it and then KU fired Long the next day.
