That was one depressing arse day. I think it was a Thursday and cold as frick in Houston. I remember the offer and the turn-down. I was like you, thinking that we were about to become the door mat of the SEC. It was also coincidently the day I discovered Bill King's show on Sirius radio which was way before F-bomb even left Birmingham.

Yea - I vividly remember walking back into the fraternity house from class, going to my room and turning the TV on the in background while I got some stuff out on my desk to study. Some other guys were in there sitting on the couch and all of a sudden they both were just like "You gotta be fricking kidding me".........and I turned around and CBS42 was confirming that RichRod wasn't coming back and was staying at WVU.

It felt like the culmination of all the shite we'd dealt with for the past 15 years just collapsed the ceiling. I just remember all of us being like this is finally it, the end. Accept who we are now - we're never going to even get close to being the Alabama that our parents remember.
