So LSU realized the conference got harder and expanded. Having just adopted shitty big-12 rKansas, why did we need to keep another shitty big-12 team in 8&4fit?

To be fair, Arkansas was never in the Big 12. They moved to the SEC from the SWC before the SWC disbanded with some of the members joining the Big 12.
