The problem is that you can't fit 10 lbs of crap into a 5lb sack. It's not possible to have a perfect pod system that protects all of the following rivalries:

Tennessee vs Alabama
Alabama vs Auburn
Auburn vs Georgia
Georgia vs Florida

One of them is getting demoted to being played every OTHER year at best in the pod system.

As a fan of none of those teams, the games that I would least like to lose are the Iron Bowl and the Cocktail Party. The last time Tennessee was seriously competitive against Alabama, I still hadn't even kissed a girl for the first time.

That’s not true. Again, refer to my post on page 3. It offers a system that preserves all rivalry games that teams want preserved. Also, it’s likely that any that drop off annuallywill be played 2 out of every 3 years.

There are options with rotating pods. Here's one:

Pod1: Arkansas gets LSU, Tennessee, Kentucky
Pod1: Texas gets A&M, Vanderbilt, Florida
Pod1: OU gets OM, Alabama, Georgia
Pod1: Missouri gets MSU, Auburn, USC

Pod2: LSU gets Arkansas, Alabama, Florida
Pod2: A&M gets Texas, Auburn, USC
Pod2: OM gets OU, Vanderbilt, Georgia
Pod2: MSU gets Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky

Pod3: Alabama gets OU, LSU, USC
Pod3: Auburn gets Missouri, A&M, Georgia
Pod3: Tennessee gets Arkansas, MSU, Florida
Pod3: Vanderbilt gets Texas, OM, Kentucky

Pod4: Georgia gets OU, A&M, Auburn
Pod4: Florida gets Texas, LSU, Tennessee
Pod4: USC gets Missouri, OM, Alabama
Pod4: Kentucky gets Arkansas, MSU, Vanderbilt

Not perfect but keeps almost every rivalry, keeps regional affiliations and balances schedule difficulty for the most part (eg Alabama gets Vanderbilt and USC to balance LSU and Oklahoma).
