I agree from a fan perspective....but this is about TV deals and playoffs.

What's on paper will have huge influences when talking TV deals.

And having Texas, OK, Bama, GA, Florida, LSU, etc... all slated to play each other every 4-5 years will be a big selling point.

I think the television people will be excited about more games with a built-in audience. If you get LSU versus Florida and Alabama every year plus two LSU games against Texas and two games against Oklahoma every six years

The problem is that you can't fit 10 lbs of crap into a 5lb sack. It's not possible to have a perfect pod system that protects all of the following rivalries:

Tennessee vs Alabama
Alabama vs Auburn
Auburn vs Georgia
Georgia vs Florida

One of them is getting demoted to being played every OTHER year at best in the pod system.

As a fan of none of those teams, the games that I would least like to lose are the Iron Bowl and the Cocktail Party. The last time Tennessee was seriously competitive against Alabama, I still hadn't even kissed a girl for the first time.
