Even if teams aren't matched in the same pod, they'll play every other year. I think it's a good compromise even though I probably won't like LSU's pod.
How I would do it:
Oklahoma
Texas
Arkansas
Texas A&M
Mizzou
Kentucky
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
Auburn
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss St
Alabama
They would never do this because it wouldn't protect the sacred calf that is Tennessee vs Alabama, and Texas A&M would throw a world class hissy about having to play Texas every year.
So, what is more likely is:
Oklahoma
Arkansas
Mizzou
Texas
Texas A&M
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss St
Tennessee
Vandy
Alabama
Kentucky
Georgia
Auburn
Florida
South Carolina
In this scenario, the only big losses are Florida vs Tennessee, and the Iron Bowl, which I'm sure the REC would love to live without half the time.
