I follow an account on social media that posts photos of days gone by in Texas. This was today’s image. The calendar posted on the wall says 1939. I found the photo to be especially powerful when you consider how hard times were. This family appeared to be surviving on biscuits and hard work. Comparing a poor child “back then” to children in contemporary society—pleading for the latest iPhone—is an eye opener.

Not really relevant to the purpose of this thread; just something that had me thinking as I viewed this post with the 3rd Sunday in Advent on my mind.

It really goes against my nature but I had to get you an upvote on that one.

Those Morton salt cans haven’t changed much in 80 years.
