Not sure why Odom would leave when he has full autonomy at Arkansas

Because let's be honest, Arkansas is not a destination job. Barry will not be doing anything great in terms of championships at Arkansas. He could in Oklahoma and it doesn't hurt that his brother is the linebackers coach at OU.

Oklahoma won’t win the SEC for their first 30 years in the league.

Oklahoma is going to get dick stomped in the SEC.

Lincoln knew it and bolted.

Why? OU would be in the bottom half of the SEC in football investment. Why are they a championship contender in the SEC?

People always say this but it's unsubstantiated. Arkansas rarely has assistants leave for the same position. There is serious football investment.

Sam Pittman is one of his best friends, and he won't be managed by a defensive HC who might want a say in how the defense is called.

LSU Fans said the same thing last year, and their program is superior to OU. If Barry didn't leave for LSU, I doubt he's going to OU.

Did Arkansas's coach just bolt for a better job? No?

But Oklahoma's did. Sorry you're a stepping stone program. But you are. #reality

Ok, then let's also be honest that neither is OU. Reilly made that clear with either a lateral or step down to a bad PAC12 team. Maybe it was at one point, but not now and certainly not once the cupcake diet gets replaced with raw meat in the SEC.

This move would make no sense if BO wants to be a H/C. His rep as a DC doesn't need polish and he would get much more mileage from making a gutted program competitive than getting OU back to where they think they already should be.

If OU is such a destination job, why are they hiring a career coordinator that has never been a HC?

You'd think all these amazing coaches would've been lined up to fill that position.

And please don't say "OMG I WANTED VENABLES FROM THE BEGINNING". No you didn't. No one wakes up and says "Man, I really wish Brent Venables was my head coach."
