Something we usually hear a lot about but oddly didn't last night is how the refs suck and always seem to go Bama's way. Not an excuse but hear me out. Could one reason the Bama OL may have had the significant jump in performance from AU to SECCG be a lack of hold calls in the trenches?

Go to this link and check the photo being used

Nolan Smith is clearly being held in that photo and I don't recall but maybe 1 hold being called in the trenches. Bama OL is grabbing his jersey and his wrist in this photo. Given BY's ultra fast release, all they need is to hold just enough to buy him 0.5 second. If the refs aren't calling this it's like having an extra OL on the field.

What were your thoughts about the job the refs did last night?

Thought overall it was good. I didnt see but 1-2 questionable calls and that is about as good as one can hope for.
