We've learned that he's more productive than SW & JJ but not more talented, according to KK's logic
And that Joey is a dick

Thanks for clarifying. Geneschin needs all the help he can get.

That is a little BS though when you consider guys like Tony Stewart are "more talented" than Jax St wrs.
When you are talking about drop off in WRs for Jenkins, production is what we are talking about. So either your talent argument was A) completely pointless or B) arguing that talent = more production
Tony Stewart killed a man on a racetrack. No clue what he has to do with this conversation.
I see your point in the talent to production thing and arguing drop off for Eli's WRs. My tendency, aside from shitting rainbows, is when projecting younger guys to look more at their attributes as opposed to production (since there are no college stats to go on). But WR SPECIFICALLY is a position that can much moreso easily be a position of strength with a frosh than the more physical positions closer to the LOS. If we were talking about DTs or OL then we shouldn't even have this conversation for sure. But there are lots of talented frosh WRs who contribute major numbers right away.

Just for a little clarification in the original argument.
Some other poster (don't remember who) made the claim that Jax St WRs were better than ours. Some how they deduced that Jenkins will be better at Auburn using that as evidence.
So I said IF that is true (didn't care if actually was or not), he would have worse stats since he has lesser WRs and better competition.
So the argument about who is more talented (as KK defines it) is pretty irrelevant. The question would be if I plug in NCM or any Auburn WR with Jenkins at QB next year, will he help or hurt Jenkins more or less than if I plug in a Jax St WR.

Top of page 8

There's a lot to digest there. Both QBs benfited from dropped INTs. JJ was playing around a more talented overall team. Eli probably had better receivers.
We talk about how amazing Eli played in that game but I think that we've slightly distorted his performance in that game

I don't know. I'm tired of talking about Jenkins honestly. I don't even know if he is capable of beating out SW, much less if he is really considering playing for Auburn.
People do not need to mistake Jenkins for another Cam or NM or any other "shot in the arm" QB.

I completely overlooked that post, but I don't think there's a "probably" to it. They were definitely better last year, and although Auburn has some serious talent coming in, they're unproven and we don't even know how much playing time they'll get.

Jay Tate, Bryan Matthews and Jeff Lee have talked a lot about Eli Jenkins on the last two Rundowns. Basically, he's very much in play (so long as is legal troubles are out of the way, and everyone expects them to be), and the ship on Davis Webb has set sail. Eli Jenkins would likely still require a waiver to transfer to Auburn, but Jay Tate thinks he would get one. They also collectively agreed that he was better than anything we currently have on roster. TIFWIW.

We're on the same page.
I'll agree with the others that I like the WRs we are bringing in. We undervalued hands/ability to catch in multiple recruiting classes in a row. I feel like we've begun addressing that.

I just hope we're able to see Nate Craig-Myers, Eli Stove and Kyle Davis on the field in some capacity this year. I don't see any reason to redshirt outside of injury.
Nate Craig-Myers could be a guy we see on kick off return.
