Heard they had upgrades to baseball and softball along with this as well.

I'm sure there is a non revenue sports thread for that information to post that in

His film looked solid. He wont be a star but he'll be a good distributor and good enough to let Harper rest. Should be able to at least match Mitchell's production from this last season.

ETA:

Thought the same for the JUCO kid Torres too.

The internal investigation must be over. Pearl and Greene are discussing contract extensions and raises for Pearl and his assistants.

Auburn has also joined the offer parade for four-star Jaykwon Walton (link: LINK 247sports.com/Player/Jaykwon…

I’m not sure why we waited so long to offer this 2019 kid. Maybe something to do with Flanigan.

We've been monitoring him for an extremely long time. I posted at the beginning of the season he is someone we've been keeping tabs on

I imagine keeping tabs is communicating regularly with him, well before he started to explode

Seems to be some rumblings that Harper may be leaving after next season

While I was not concerned with guys like Heron, Mitchell or Murray, if there is any truth to this, it has me worried

Players transferring as experienced starters is never good. Reminds me of when Marco Killingswortb left and the abyss that followed. The rumor doesn’t even make sense.

Edit: I highly recommend NOT searching Jared Harper on Twitter.

As in, playing another season at AU and then going pro?

That's a strange rumor if it's talking about transferring after one more season.

Ya

Not transfer

Not saying it is unreasonable. If his primary goal is to play professionally, nothing he does his SR season will add a few inches in height but it carries the risk of poor performance/injury.

Going pro after a really good season is buying high on your pro prospects. Can't blame the thought

Just goes to show that this day in age in CBB you need to be recruiting constantly and always have options and bringing in freshmen every single year.

People on this board have expressed discontent with our lack of activity on the recruiting trail because of this over the past year but it seems clear to me the staff knows this. We were a little quiet on the recruiting trail because of FBI-gate, not because we thought our roster was "set."

And have a balanced roster. Having 5 or 6 players in one class is just asking for trouble. It creates logjams at positions and the players behind that class wind up transferring out as well like Mitchell this year. It's one my few gripes with Pearl so far. Everyone is going to deal with transfers. It's just the way it is in college basketball now but you can mitigate some of that with balancing out rosters so it isn't as big of a hit and can be recruited around.

Yeah, I think in a perfect world we should sign 3-4 freshman every year and plug attrition gaps with JUCO/Grad Transfers. That's the formula for stability.

The big classes were largely a result of the attempt at a quick fix rebuild that largely failed. Bruce definitely wishes he could have those first two years back. He tried and failed to get us back to the tourney in less that 2 seasons with JUCO/Transfers which is very difficult to do.

It never bothered me that he went for it but we are still kind of paying for it.
