It's a paysite article and therefore does not count.

Nah we’ll beat the snot out of LSU but lose to someone dumb like MSU or UT

But otherwise yes, UW/UGA/UA/“inevitable Sugar Bowl loss” were what I was thinking of

So let’s get it on record what you think about that. Do you think Stidham is being lied to? Lying? Be specific.

OK, here's what I believe.

I haven't seen a single time in his OC/HC history where Gus Malzahn has actually allowed the QB any kind of on-the-field responsibility outside of (1) the read on an actual read-option or (2) which receiver to throw to on a pass play (and I fully believe that there are lots of times that he has contolled that too).

Not. A. Single. Time.

Gus Malzahn is one MF'er of a control freak.

So I'll choose to NOT believe this nigh-unbelievable thing until I actually see it happen with a frequency that actually means he's given the QB that flexibility more than in a singular, very rare, on-field occurrence
if you don't mind.

You obviously haven't paid that much attention then. In 2014 NM check out of stuff quite often.

Nick Marshall and cam newton pulled it all the damn time.

What does "outside of" mean to you?

I mean in English, not the language that you speak.

After he looked to the sideline and was told when to check
and what to check to, yep.

Just like all of Gus Malzahn's QBs.

True. That talent that Stidham talks about is only as good as the HC. And GusShortBus isn't NC caliber.

Can we get a list of HC's that are NC caliber?

Nope. The only reason he won a NC is because of who was coaching on the other sideline.

So not even actually winning an NC makes someone 'NC caliber'. Interesting.

So, outside of Saban and Meyer, and possibly Dabo, are there any other 'NC caliber' HCs out there?

ETA: one other question - what coaching mistakes did Gustav make in the 2013 NC game that allowed an undeserving Jimbo to hoist the trophy?

Chris Peterson, Gary Patterson (wanted the Auburn job when Chizik was hired, but we all know JJ), Scott Frost, Chip Kelly, Bobby Petrino, etc.

Started squating on the lead, as he has done several times (Tubs 2.0).
