Don’t forget Neil Caudle was neck and neck with Cam in practice. Things look a lot different when that no contact jersey comes off.

Cam to defenders at practice: "This orange jersey isn't for my protection; it's for yours."

I don’t think it’s a TJ love fest as much as it is Bo Nix fatigue. Fatigue happens with every longtime starting QB. I often point out to friends how they literally spent 2014 wishing Nick Marshall (a top 3-5 auburn QB ever) away for Jeremy Johnson (lol). Brandon Cox had the same thing happen to him for Kodi Burns (lol). But it’s especially bad when a now junior has arguably regressed from his freshman year with us. People are just tired of watching it even if it’s clear to me Nix is better if you watch enough of their tape.

I think that's the issue. Nix has a lot more tape than Finely and it's not impressive. The tape on Bo from this year is not impressive. At least start TJ so we can judge for ourselves because we could be on the brink of being winless in the SEC with Bo. We could be winless with TJ as well but at least let us get a look at him and see what he can do.

Yeah I don’t disagree with that. I think conventional wisdom says that Bo is probably a better QB based on the data we do have but when it ain’t working with the offense as a whole, probably just try the other guy.

Sometimes a guy who isn’t meeting expectations can actually be worse than a guy he is more talented than. The team feels his underperformance. Bo feels it. They all hear the murmurs from the crowd and talk show pundits and even the lack of confidence Bo has in himself shows in his play more so in a game than it probably does in practice. And that vibe can permeate through the team.
