The definitely have potential to be much, much better. I'm just not sure if this is the year they'll make that jump with so much youth and inexperience. But they certainly could be

Well it's the truth. He was about the most clutch dude ever but still. All I was saying is we don't have to have a good passer. Matter fact, I'll go as far as to say we can't win with a passer in Gus' offense. We can either lead the conference in rushing and win a title, or we can try and pass and lose 5 games. Not sure how much in between exists

Nothing like being in the top 15 in QB Rating + YPA and not be a good passer.

For the record, Nick Marshall statistically is the 2nd best passer since Jason Campbell for Auburn and it isn't even close. The 2014 season is one of the best passing seasons by an AU QB . May say more about AU QBs but we should pray for someone as good at passing as Marshall

Dude, I loved Nick. And I always thought he was much better than people wanted to give him credit for. But the numbers don't tell the story. You can't tell me he was a polished passer. He's playing CB now for a reason.

Getting way off the mark here. I was just using that to go along with what I said next. Carry on

Ok lemme see. Nick Marshall sucked at passing and was only a product of the laptop stealing system he was in!!! BUST

P.S. Nick was the shite. I loved how much he used to rustle jimmies with his eloquent dialect.

Don't need to be polished to be good bro. For college football, Marshall was a good passer. Maybe not great, but it wasn't a liability by any means

Nick Marshall improved dramatically from 2013-2014. And I can hardly label him a liability in the passing game after seeing him torch Alabama, pass after pass, all game long in 2014.

Let the assistants talk with the media today. Lot of notes

Jay Tate's D Assistant

Garner

-Cowart making huge improvements and blames recruiting services for unrealistic expectations.

-Thinks Prince Tega will move inside to 3tech DT (pass rush DT like FairleY)

-Tega still a long way out. Only available for 13 college practices and was raw to begin with. Still adjusting to justing lower body strength /pad level

-Marlon Davidson making a good "first impression" which JGT seems to think is high praise

-Antwuan Jackson / PaulJamesIII PJ3 showing good effort

McGriff

-Learned a lot from Rob Ryan (I hope not given the Saints DBs)

-Excited to recruit for Auburn not against them for a change

-Nothing important

Just because we sucked harder than i thought possible last year doesn't turn Nick into a great passer. Why are we still talking this anyway? I didn't mean to go so deep into this

Offensive Assistant Notes with BMatt

Herbie Hand

-Austin Golson appears to settling into LT with Xavier Dampeer at OC

-Robert Leff is at RT while Darius James been mostly working as #2 LT and Braden Smith rarely getting RT reps

-Mike Horton moved to OG and pushing to be one of the top 5-7 OL

KodiBurnzy

-Pushing WRs to be better blockers
-Darius Slayton and Ryan Davis improving a lot and commented on work ethic

Tim Doughnuts

-Working with Roc Thomas on being more of a one cut back instead of spinning sideline to sideline for 0 yards

-Jovon improved a lot on and off field. Commented that he was isolated at first and now is opening up

-Malik Miller led scrimmage in rushing but issues with ball security and runs high

-Kerryon should be cleared in June

No one said he was great. You did say he was bad. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest he is bad as you claimed.

So we also only signed one DE in that class too. IT is the new Auburn tradition.

Looks fine. Horton pushing for the starting job is pretty awesome. I like that guy.

Who said Horton was an inside guy? They were right it seems
