Ok chief.

But yes, the way Gus micromanaged things, expecially organizationally & recruiting, did bug Boom. That's from both AU Rivals & AUC.
Uhhh, you just said it wasn't implied or said?

But AUgirl said Gus didn't micromanage shite?

AU has problems at every level. This is what happens when you hire a coach that 1. Isn't interested in the day to day operations. 2. Doesn't hold people accountable for the day to day items. 3. Doesn't know what those people should be doing anyway. He just doesn't have enough experience and he is extremely involved in the offensive coaching. It isn't a problem to be extrwmemly involved in one phase of the team as long as you surround yourself with people that you can count on to handle the day to day items.

Well, that's why he's called the head coach. Is there any job ever where you don't take the lead of your boss?

Exactly. Gus trusts nobody, including his own coaches. That's a problem & could be his downfall.

That's absolutely horse shite.

Yeah, there is definitely a little bro faction of Auburn that is alive and well that I fricking despise, especially with the boosters. Now they'll just be more amplified due to Bama winning the NC. They've got a huge case of dick envy, which is why AU can never have nice things. They're a bunch of gaping vaginas.

You bring a lot of good stuff to this board but sometimes I think you believe some of the shite thrown around too well. Bottom line is we have two storylines that have emerged. One saying Gus isn't involved in day to day operations enough. The other saying he is too involved and not trusting his coaches. Can't have it both ways.

Ron Sanders only pops up when there is bs rumors to start. Guy understands the business and when things are down he starts fires.

Gus is the freaking head coach. It's his job to be involved in recruiting, personnel decisions and game plans. If we are paying him big bucks then he better be the one calling all the shots. It's the role of the assistants to execute that plan. So if the complaint is Gus is sticking his nose in on decisions such as personnel and guys we are going to recruit, well then I would say he is doing his damn job.

I am so sick of Auburn fans/insiders constantly creating shite that they can't backup. We eat our own like no other and is part of the reason we deal with such crazy cycles. I have no doubt Gus is paranoid but so are the majority of big time coaches. In fact most head coaches are arrogant jerks who believe they know all. That's why they got where they are today. It's only a problem when you lose and that's what's happening. I guarantee that if Auburn wins 10+ games this season you won't hear a peep from Ron Sanders

As for insiders no one knows shite about what is happening inside the program because if there is one thing that has been proved it's Gus runs a tight ship that rarely leaks. I didn't see a single insider have Kevin Steele on the list until he announced. No one had McGriff as a target until it was ready to announce. So I have a hard time believe all of these people know the inner workings of what is going down with this coaching staff. Some might be bits of truth but mostly it's best to dismiss much of it as garbage.

Gus has to find a QB. That's it. If he does that none of this will come up. If he doesn't then some crazy narrative will be created to justify firing him and we will move on to the next sucker

How dare the HC dictate things about his program. Who does he think he is?

Hilarious. At least the people on here seem rational about this "report."

Would it be better if we yelled about difference between "feels good" or "locks"?

I just really dislike Ron Sanders and hate when his stuff gets taken as the word of god by some AU fans. Don't know if you picked that up in my post or not

Long time caller first time someone answered...

You're full of shite

There, I did it for the board. It was needed to be said and no one wanted to rustle jangalang. I said in the group meeting offline that I would be the one.

No one is foaming at the mouth. We are calling someone out for information that doesn't seem to make sense based on earlier rumors. Is that okay to do or should we just accept conflicting information as the truth? It could be valid, but we haven't had very good info about our program in a while.

I will hang up and listen. Thanks for letting me on the program

Good luck with that.

And as far as I'm concerned, I don't believe the information but I wouldn't be surprised if this was true.

Does this sound familiar to the shtick they spread about Chizik?

quote:

There's reports that Chizik has started meddling with recruiting and giving his input into places it doesn't necessarily belong. For example: One report is that he starting tinkering with the offensive line personal and recruiting. Grimes didn't like this and Chizik told him to find a new home.

Per Ron there are others that wouldn't mind leaving as well.

Ron says these coaches are frustrated by the same thing Gus Malzahn was.

Coaches have much less input now than in 2010. In 2010 Gene did his thing and let all other coaches do their thing. Everyone gave input and Chizik listened. Not anymore...

Now Gene has taken more control over every aspect and it has coaches looking for fresh starts elsewhere.

Everything from:

-Recruiting
-Practice Drills
-Organization

He's even now involved with the offense. Not on-field play calling but every level of organization which affects every aspect of the offense.

How else would you expect a man that knows he is coaching for his job next year to proceed. Just sit back and hope everyone else does their job?

And yet, there are many of our own that we shite on in the past who still keep coming back.

I had hopes when Gustav got the gig that he would change the dysfunctional AU culture. It appears that the AU culture is extremely resistant to becoming un-dysfunctional.

If the epic disaster that was the AU football program from January 2011 through December 2012 didn't convince those in power that we needed massive change in the Athletic Dept, then I doubt anything ever will.

Change the part about Grimes and the OL to Malzahn and the QBs and it could have been posted on 247 in January of 2012.
