I think he may have played a little during the AL State game, but not much. Even when he was at WV this was all he produced: 31 tackles, 8 pass deflections, and 1 interception. He didn't even make the depth chart at the beginning of the season.

Hudson had 44 catches for 580 yards and 4tds.
Mario Williams had 35 catches for 380 yards and 4tds. Plus he's 5'9.
Not sure what your definition of "upgrade" is.
