We all know Gus hasn't had any success developing a QB after 2013. But Gus has to get back on track with our RBs...right?

I mean, if he can make Kamryn Pettway a 1,000 yd rusher, surely he can get DJ or MAR there.........right?

1000 is kinda arbitrary. Our running backs totaled 1900+ yards this season. About the same last season too (1850ish)

2014 - 2200ish
2015 - 2100ish

We’re down overall from some of our previous seasons but the major difference has been Whitlow staying healthy enough to reach that threshold.

Is football still around in 2915? I kid.

Good point though. I also know that our Oline is a huge variable here and who the hell knows what that will look like next year.

This has a lot to do with struggling to run the ball. Teams don't respect Gus' passing game.

They shouldn’t. We certainly don’t.

And to me, and more importantly, we need that RB that is the 'go to' guy, in crunch time.
Like Tre Mason and KJ were in the past.

Having Whitlow healthy and powering through the Alabama D, helped us control that game and win it.

"Gus runs our #1 RB into the ground!!!!"

"When we will we have another 1000 yd RB?????"

ETA: Whitlow avg 4.89 ypc this year. KJ avg 4.88 ypc in 2017.
