Kobe Hudson - #111
Demetrius Robertson - #13
Javarius Johnson - #364
Malcolm Johnson Jr #212
Zavien Capers - #132
Tarvarus Dawson - #358
JJ Evan’s #169
Brandon Frazier #348

This was all of our pass catchers that were 4 star on the composite. No 5 stars but I think 8 composite 4 stars isn’t half bad. Almost 5 guys in the top 200 of their class isn’t too bad when you normally only have 3 on the field at any given moment

There is plenty to still coach up a 5 star on and being just a good recruiter that puts a ball through the jug machine is not going to cut it.

Except that someone like Bama or UF or LSU routinely just has amazing recruits at those positions, and washes through coaches.

That’s not to say that coaches isn’t important, but you can’t put enough emphasis on recruiting or having the right players.

I actually agree with this but the rest of your post is overstated almost hyperbole in the boring department. These athletes are top tier athletes that attend coaching camps, multiple 7 on 7 basketball on on grass competitions, and private training sessions and receiver is the one position that requires less scheme than other positions to be successful. The receivers that have pure receiver skill will do well in most schemes. My champion example is Demariyus Thomas from the option offense of Georgia Tech. His best year he caught 46 passes but he still had the skill to transcend any myth that he couldn’t do well in an NFL offense.

Lol, that’s terrible actually and you are blind to see it.

Now do UGA, Bama, UF, and LSU.

You called my post hyperbole then brought up a receiver who played in the option offense lol. Also Demaryius Thomas was very mediocre his first two years in the NFL, presumably due to how raw his technique was from playing in the option.

No exception, even the best of the best are getting coaching that improves their craft as a WR. They just have the ability to execute better than one that is a project.
I don’t disagree that there are things like athleticism, talent and skill that is not coached but can be honed.

I said almost hyperbole in the boring department because you were overstating the responsibilities of a WR coach. I feel very strongly that you bring in a former receiver that can recruit and he will be able to teach the receiver position as good as any KeeSaw.

But he was in the NFL on an active roster. That’s no small feat. Ask Seth Williams, a top 35 WR

This is on paper easily our best WR coach in quite some time.

C Robinson and Ike look great additions and we have been adding other staff to help with recruiting efforts. Seems like Harsin is actually making changes

Bruh, come on. Sure. But Bama doesn’t have the best WR coach every year they have a great Wr corp or 2.

I’m not by any means saying that WR coach is only about recruiting. But the fact of the matter is the ONLY way to have a great WR corp is by having great players, great players ONLY comes from recruiting.

So annoying when people on this board no so little about football. Of course it’s easier to develop someone with more tools in the box but at every level that doesn’t always translate into performance on the field. Understanding how to sit down on routes, find open space, adjust routes based on coverage. There are soooo many things that make a good passing game. Is the player coachable, work ethic, intelligent. Never underestimate coaching. Great hire. Our WR will be better for it!

Having integrity and a lunch pail doesn’t translate into performance either. You should stop overthinking it because there is no need to reinvent the wheel. Recruit great players, teach them, profit.

Here, I saved everyone a lot of effort here on learning what a WR coach does.

Bro. If I bought a mail order bride from Russia and was trying to teach her football I’d definitely use that blog post. So mundane my eyes almost bled.

What is funny is Kiesau (the guy Ike is replacing )was not technically crafted at any position. He has been QB coach/ WR Coach/ OC/ RB coach. And those type of journeyman positionless coaches are everywhere.

People didn’t like Kodi Burns as WR coach here either, but I’m guessing people would love to have him now. People will learn.

I heard today where in the first couple weeks of January, Kirby visited 30+ high schools. Harsin maybe half a dozen. I sure hope that has changed.
