No. Stop saying that.

Gus has recruited good,
Everyone keeps claiming this. I guess it is somewhat true if you only look at rankings or stars. But what about building a roster or recruiting to your needs? What about roster management? He failed and he also failed at player development. If anyone watched that Georgia game this year or the Bama game, the difference in on field talent could have been measured in light years. Georgia dominated- men and boys dominated. Go back and trace the projection of the offensive production during Malzahns tenure. Numbers don't lie.

2. push/develop them to their full potential: please name 8 players who have truly improved during Gus regime.
This really is the one that stands out. One of the only ones I can think of on offense (where Gus could probably get credit for) would be Kerryon. But, honestly, he was a stud out of high school and I think his injury issues held him back from reaching his full potential. I think we probably saw him at his best in '17 before his shoulder I jury in the IB. Ryan Davis would be the one I would point to that made the most improvement on offense. Slayton is definitely one you could say who wasn't utilized enough when compared to his potential and looking at the start of his pro career.
There were a few guys on defense that showed some improvement over their careers here. D. Brown, but he was gonna be a stud regardless. KJ, Marlon Davidson- improved but not a ton and was also a stud from day one. The only one I can think of that made a significant improvement over a few years is D. Russell at DT. Maybe Truesdale. Of course none of those can really be attributed to Gus.
All of this is to say, regardless of who gets the job, I will be so glad to be able to watch these kids grow and improve. You can see it watching other teams in the SEC and it's obvious that development was a major problem during the Malzahn tenure at Auburn.

He wasn't. Dude loved to take the 4* athlete and had zero clue how to utilize him. 9 OLmen in 5 years. Backed into D Brown, but our DL recruiting has been meh. RB recruiting has been terrible.

This. I keep bringing this up. There are rumors that have gone around and the sheer fact that he hasn't left yet after what seems like almost 20 years as a high profile DC at both Oklahoma and now Clemson seems to be pretty telling. He's not "waiting for the right job" LMAO. What's he waiting for, Alabama to open up?
He was basically ran out of Oklahoma. He has done a good job as DC at Clemson though.

What do you guys think of Tom Allen - our plane flew to Indiana today.

I don't know a thing about him other than he is Indiana's current coach.
What is his background? Who has he worked for before Indiana?

Nah fricking Oline was terrible.

We haven't had a elite RB since KJ. This clown ran out Kam Martin for a few years. Who was that FB we tried to start?

Ole Miss. South FL. He had a legit rep at one point. I completely forgot about him until this year, honestly.

It has been decent. We just weren't able to retain the top guys once they got here. That has a lot to do with Gus and his stubbornness when it came to giving guys playing time based on blocking ability.
OL recruiting is what absolutely murdered any chance of his offense had of working.

He was once brought up as a candidate for the Auburn DC when he was at USF. Was DC at Ole Miss and I think has done a good job at Indiana. Indiana has a good football team this year. Would fit in well as far as all that family culture stuff at Auburn.

Tom Allen was Freeze’s LB coach at Ole Miss (and Arkansas state)

I think that Bigsby will turn out to be the best RB at Auburn since Cadillac Williams.

That is my point, replying to the other guy before being derailed. Gus' recruiting was terrible in the fact his roster management and eye for talent was lacking.

You are correct, he wasn't the DC at Ole Miss.
