Just wanted to share something I guess I had forgot all about. I remember the 2004 season well, but this brought back a memory from deep down. I watched him calling the 2004 LSU game and it hit me that we beat Coach Nick Saban, Offensive Coordinator Jimbo Fisher, and Defensive Coordinator Will Mushamp in that game. Damn what a staff, what a year, and what a call from a man that will be missed for years to come.

And all that after a short week of practice in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan.

I listened to that call while evacuated with my extended family in Prattville. Great game in a difficult time.

I had a gigantic sign for that game that said “WE DON’T MISS!!” with the kicker’s extra point streak on it. I was adding them up each game.

Then we missed and I immediately shredded it to pieces.

Then we got a redo.

I’m not sure what role I had in winning that game, but it was important.

I think that game is what got me to really LOVE Auburn. I had been to 10 or so games before, obviously always had fun, but I will never forget this game. 2003 Ole Miss as well, but for other reasons . Sitting in the opposite endzone of the catch dead in the sun. Brutally hot game and near some LSU fans but still one of my favorite games Ive been to.
