Not sure if it's just me but Bo seems to be in a lot more places. I know he attended some of the 2010 games - I specifically remember him congratulating Dyer when Dyer broke his record.

There was Bo Bikes Bama 1, then he was part of the search committee. Now Bo Bikes Bama 2.

He threw out the pitch at the Braves game today and I just saw where he is the celebrity for AU for the Chick Fil A Bowl golf tournament.

Is it just me or has Bo become a lot more visible in the last couple of years?

Seems like it. Since Tubs left it seems like we have been reaching out more to our past greats. Once JJ is gone, I think we'll see alot more.

guarantee he wins that tournament, then chases down a wild boar and slits its throat.

He's also speaking at a Samford athletic event in the near future and he threw out the first pitch on Opening Day for the White Sox. He's a busy bee

So it's Jacob's fault now that some former players don't come around? He doesn't seem to bother Bo, Pat, Cam, Barkley, etc.

Seems like it's more of a personal decision Bo has made. Like maybe he's finally come to terms with himself and being in the public eye :saiddrfreud:

Either way Im glad to see him not just representing Auburn but becoming more involved as a representative of the State of Alabama. Say what you want about Barkley but niether he nor Bo have ever distanced themselves from the Alabama roots

He's rubbed several prominent alumni and former players the wrong way. Bo and Pat have just recently come back around. JJ hasn't had time to piss off Cam yet. And Barkley? He hasn't really been around Auburn for a while. He's definitely not a fan of JJ.

Seems like he was pretty involved with Barbee at one point

I seem to remember JJ saying he "enlisted" Barkley to help with the hire of Barbee, but who knows how much was really done. Could have been the same as the Bo and Pat "enlistings" for football. I don't think Chuck and Barbee had even met until several months after he was hired. I don't remember the last time he was on campus.

Barkley is on campus a minimum of 5 times a year and continues to be one of the top donors to the athletics department. He was at 3 or 4 hoops games this year and at least 3 football games. His involvement with Auburn has not diminished by any sense of the word.

News to me. I've never seen him or heard about him being in town, but that doesn't mean anything

I'm not going to name people Rig. Just people I know who were close or within our AD a while back, and the people they know. TIFWIW...I'm not the type of person to just throw bullshite around.

Don't get defensive. It's a fair question to ask for names and not too unreasonable.. if they are as high profile as you make it seem to have blown off Auburn because of Jacobs then their names are subject to be thrown around. I've seen more former athletes around AU and involved with AU than any other time. Will Herring, Jason Dufner, Charles, Cam, Sullivan, Jackson, Chris Porter, Doc Robinson, Cadillac Williams, Jason Campbell, Ronnie Brown, Kenny Irons, Quentin Groves, Randy Campbell, John Mengelt, Marquis Daniels, Gabe Gross, and Tim Hudson have all been on campus and/or active within this athletics department in the last 6 months voicing their opinions or utilizing what AU still offers them. Those are just the names off of the top of my head too.
If you haven't heard about Charles being in town it's fair to ask who you do hear isn't happy with Jacobs. Otherwise it just seems like another random reason to put Jacobs head on the chopping block without evidence from this situation.

Yeah you're a good poster in my mind but I refuse to just believe what anyone says without something to back it.

Well the people I'm talking about are family friends so I'm not going to be throwing their names out on a message board to satisfy someones need to know, sorry. Even if you had names I don't see how they would do you much good...it's not like there are news articles of them lashing our current AD. They're Auburn men, they aren't going to publicly trash their university. I hadn't heard of Charles being in town because I hadn't been paying attention I suppose. He wasn't specifically mentioned be other people.

And yeah, alot of former athletes have been vocal about Auburn as of late. Kinda seems like someone is reaching out to them to create good buzz about our AD. I wonder why this happened all of the sudden...

As I said, tifwiw. If you think it's invalid, untrue or bullshite, disregard what you've read. I was just adding to the convo with some stuff I know. It's not a big secret JJ stepped on alot of toes to get where he is now (most people do to get to high positions). Instead of reaching out to those people after he became AD, he more or less ousted them. This isn't a tale of mystery and conspiracy, it's just politics. That's all I really have to say about it.

I am glad to see Bo being more involved and more public. Never bad to have such a positive influence around

I could think of much worse hires than Bo

Hopefully he'll hire Takeo as his secretary/enforcer.

The stuff about Bo and JJ is just not true. Jacobs and Bo were teammates and Jacobs blocked for him as a starting o-lineman in 1982 and 1983. I suspect they are good friends and close.

Bo has been more involved in part due to Jacobs reaching out to him. Tubs did not reach out to former players or involve them, but Chizik did and Bo being more involved with AU is in large part due to jacobs I suspect.
