Looks like Auburn is in a good spot with Nyland Green right now. Unclear when he will make a decision but Auburn could be the favorite as of today.

Auburn also offered 3* OLB Jabril McNeill. At 6-4, 225 he looks like a guy they like at BUCK/DE

I went and counted the heads of UGA's OL and I was suprised to find only 15 listed for their 2020 roster. Is it me or do they seem to sign 5 OL every year since Kirby took over? I suppose that's "the Process-ing" influence Kirby learned from Saban, because otherwise they'd have 20 OL.

Normal is about 16-18 depending on the team IIRC. Tre Hill, who AU recruited is also listed as a DL which I found suprising.

Did you check their signee list also? They have six OL signed From the 2020 class and none of them have enrolled yet which means none of them would be on a roster yet.

I did not consider that new class. If you add the 6 then UGA is carrying 21 OL which is absurd for any 85 roster.

How do they do that for more than a few years?

Where are you seeing that? That would be huge, 100% CB to Clemson though.

Would love to finally beat Clemson for a top corner after Alexander, Terrell, and Booth the last few years.

Looking at full roster numbers is misleading. I remembered rosters include walk one and scholarship players without making a separate designation for either group. I cross-referenced the roster with their signing & transfer classes the last 4 or 5 years. They have 16 OL listed on the roster not counting the six current class signees but seven of those 16 are walk one. So they really only have nine scholarship OL plus the six signed coming in for a total of 15 which is solid but not overwhelming depth.

Markail Benton is in the transfer portal. He was suspended for unknown reasons earlier this off season.

I don’t think we’re interested but figured it was worth mentioning

Speaking of Benton, Justyn Ross may never play football again injured his neck and is fine but having surgeries it may be too dangerous for him to play again.

Clemson thought it was a stinger but discovered he was born with congenital fusion in his spine when he was examined this Spring.

I think AU had Moultry over Benton on the board IIRC. Vakkias (AU guy) was/is Moultry and Coynis Miller's high school coach.

Awful. I can't imagine something you love and want to do as a career being potentially taken away.

Don’t think so. Pretty sure they were recruited for different LB positions.

Moultry was moved outside at AU because of need at the time. He played and was recruited as a LB. His HS coach still complains about the position move at AU.

I don't think it matters because hangnails probably impact ILBs more than OLB/DE.

Yes & we have 2 separate LB positions, sometimes 3. They were recruited for different LB positions. Benton was recruited by AU as a Sam LB & Moultry was recruited for the Money LB position.

They were both recruited as LBs, and Benton was never coming to AU, just ask any Phenix City-ian. The AU staff knew that too. As it always goes for AU since Dye we evaluate well and Moultry blew up his senior season and UA recruited him hard late. Moultry showed up at AU and was switched to Buck to get on the field faster and provide depth.

It really doesn't matter because he's either having issues with injuries or toughness. I do wonder what he would have done if he stayed at LB.

A little revisionist history, IMO. But as you said - doesn’t matter now.
