Absolutely. That is why in the end, I decided to buy a new home. I could get it priced and locked in and not have to worry about it after that. It honestly is not what I wanted to do but it stopped the madness. We were both getting so frustrated that we wanted to get drunk every day.

What was suppose to be fun ended up a damn nightmare. Im glad we did what we did even though i had to way over pay to do so

Ended up another realtor, best friends with my realtor, bought the house. I found out a week later and sent our realtor packing. I wanted to kill her arse

That's frustrating. I'm wondering if your ex-realtor mentioned it in passing, or if the friend had the same resources your realtor did and jumped on it.

A good realtor is fricking key though in this market.

Yep. Good luck banking on a Great Recession to reset the housing market back to 2009 levels. Firms are setting a floor now.

Can't wait for the inevitable collapse, and then watch as bailout funds are given to the banks, who get reimbursed for the houses, and then foreclose on them when homeowners can't pay the mortgage, instead of giving the funds to the people paying the mortgages.

Both ways, bank gets it money, but the first way royally screws everyone over except the banks.

When I told her that we would be using someone else for our home search from this point on, she looked like she knew exactly why. I never had to explain it to her. But I really wanted to.

I think they were going to be the listing agent and told me before hand. After we drew up our paperwork, I think her friend saw it and decided she wanted it instead so they gave me some bullshite about the owner pulling out because we only had 70% cash and someone offered 100%. Ended up it was her friend from her office

Your takes on everything are consistently awful. Jesus aged Christ on a Popsicle stick. I have skin in the game too.

Only if I knew how it was gonna turn out

Sorry to hear about the housing sitch - I remember how carefully you planned for this move, sometimes the world just refuses to cooperate.

On the bright side, the design of that house looks pretty cool from the pics you posted - how many square feet?

Meh. It is what it is. Going to be a awesome house. More than I ever thought I would own in my poor arse life. it just comes with a price. There was really nothing else we could do other than just keep renting or just buy something to live in for a while till things cooled off. Neither of these were attractive.

House is 3/3, 2600 sq feet. Massive outside space which is the key to it all. Big pool with spa, nice lanai and big outdoor kitchen with bar. The area we bought in is a very sought after area in Sarasota so I dont feel we are ever going to be in any danger there of losing money. I just know once we get dug in there, we are never going to want to move again and I will have to figure out how to pay for it.

6 miles from Siesta Key. Big subdivision with all the trimmings. Neighborhood is more middle aged people and people with kids than older people. I like that. The place I live now is all old people.

We needed to shite or get off the pot. There were just no used inventory out there that was what we liked and what hit the market was a bidding war and I was not going to get in that mess. We are phase 1 of 4 and the other lots in the new phases are already selling like crazy even though things are slowing down a bit here. I am less worried about losing money on it than I am about keeping it.

I am having to deal with more "politics" and "government" stuff than I have in the past now. It really is no fun and some of it just seems stupid. There is absolutely no reason for some of the red tape other than money

All these 'regulations' are really just taxes. Our store buildout cost us WAY more this time around. There was the normal inflation stuff and trying to get a contractor, etc, etc. However, a very large proportion of the build out was due to all kinds of new Green ordinances and Disability ordinances. Example: We had to tile more than half way up the wall in the bathroom for some reason. Another was all the fricking LED lighting that had to be on timers.

The gov't sucks.

Few years ago a friend of mine had a drunk dude turn into his yard thinking it was a street and drove right into his empty pool. I wasn't the drunk dude BTW. It was a different one.

The fact that you had to say you weren't the drunk dude makes me think you were.
