Has there been a time when AU was good on both sides of the ball?

Under Gus, Auburn is Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to defense and offense.

I think Gus once again felt comfortable with having a lead on LSU at halftime. Another debacle, another loss. WHy is Gus good for losing games to teams who he shouldnt lose to?

It is a reflection of recruiting. We have trouble attracting top talent across the board. In truth I'll take great D over O, but then you have "generally" the last 40 years of Auburn football until you catch those special QB's that are rare.

I don't believe we sat on the lead. LSU just did a better job in the latter part of the 2nd half after Stidham killed a possible scoring drive with a terrible INT.

It's frustrating. I was all for Gus going for it on fourth down in the first quarter but why on Earth did Kelly or whomever, call that weird as running play that loss 3 yards or so. Stidham shouldve QB Sneaked it or had a wildcat play up the middle or is the offensive line just that bad?

Yes, in 1988. AU was top 10 in total offense and top 5 in total defense, and led the SEC in both categories.

Probably would have won the NC that year if we hadn't lost to LSU by one point in the final seconds.

Maybe you remember our great 2004 team when Carlos Rogers, Jason Campbell, Ronnie, Cadillac, Herring, etc all played. The answer is yes.

Yeah, 2004. And before that, 1988.
