He made those "calls" to win, he was aggressive. That's what I wanted to see. Stop with this BS narrative of "He sHoUlDa CaLlEd mOre SaFeR pLayS!!!!111111". We played to win and he coached like he wanted to win.
you kiddos are cute. Not kicking a FG was dumb, not kicking the extra point was dumb. going for it on the 30 something was dumb.

I dont give a shite about Harsin. He was a shite coach, however saying Caddy made good decisions is a fallacy

Was it really dumb though? This program hasn’t believed in itself for a while. I as a fan haven’t believed in them, and I’m probably not alone in that regard. Truth be told I didn’t tune into the game until late because I was curious what had gotten into this team after being down in a big hole early. So for all the wrong dumb decisions you pointed out, you are technically right. However, for a guy coaching his first ever game as a HC with an entire team and fan base needing a spark of optimism, it was a great way to show that he believed. The plays failed, the game was lost, but the players obviously responded and fought back with a chance to win at the end. It’s been a very very long time since I’ve seen that at Auburn.

I never in my wildest imagination would have thought a thread titled "Gentlemen. Join this thread of optimism." would have devolved into a pissing match.

Dude seems like a miserable frick. The head coach and half the staff just got canned this week and he’s shitting on Caddy for making some calls he didn’t agree with. It’s a damn miracle that overtime was even possible given the uphill battle of the whole week.

This season will probably play out similar to when Brother Oliver took over after Tater Tot quit the week after the Florida game in 98. Gutsy but lacking the players to seal the deal. After looking like garbage most of the first half of the season, we played Arkansas, Georgia and Alabama tough.

Not since dropping the Miss St game last year

I can kinda seen that, but Caddy has to believe in his defense as well. Cant be just one sided.

I do love how energetic we were in the second half and how we fought back to take the lead. Not knocking his ability to motivate the players.

Now that was a reasonable, optimistic take

Might be worth pointing out that State came into the game averaging over 6.5 yards per play on offense at home, and we held them almost 2 full yards per play under that - and they didn’t break double digits in net rushing yards til their final TD.

There was a lot more to be pleasantly surprised about last night than there were reasons to be unhappy. Sucks that we lost, but the effort was great for the first time in a long while.

My judgement is spot on. It's just not all sunshine and rainbows.

You are correct. Listen to Caddy's post game. He says that same thing. Blames himself.

Dude has been thrust into a HC position and had 4 days to figure things out though
